While they were an exotic rarity just a few years ago, syndicates in the lower house of football are now indispensable. In the summer, a number of clubs in the state leagues again sealed a cooperation. “We should have realized the whole thing much earlier,” explained Schärding’s chairman Reinhard Wagner, after the SK had recently joined forces with the ATSV in the Landesliga West. “The mood is absolutely positive and the cooperation is characterized by great collegiality,” said the 40-year-old after the 3-1 win at home against Schwanenstadt. But as with every project, there are also critical voices. “But we will soon silence the Suderants as well. The vast majority is enthusiastic.”
Also new in the west is the syndicate with Pettenbach and Grünau. “We have not regretted the step at all. When the right people get involved, something fruitful always comes out of it,” said Pettenbach’s chairman Gregor Waser.
Double pass in Katsdorf
After the first plans had been made long before Corona, a new “club marriage” has also appeared in the Landesliga Ost since the start of the season. Union and ASKÖ joined forces in Katsdorf. “The mood in the clubs and in the village is absolutely euphoric,” explained Kurt Kerschbaummair, the SPG representative of the Mühlviertler clubs – despite the 0: 2 at Schwertberg. The acceptance by the community population is particularly pleasing: “During the first training sessions, we even had spectators during the units. A really great dynamic was created.”
