Long-time basketball professional Dennis Kramer is dead. The 31-year-old died in a car accident, as confirmed by Kramer’s last professional club, BG Göttingen, on its website. “With great sadness and dismay, BG Göttingen reacted to the news of the death of their former player Dennis Kramer,” it said in a statement.
The German Basketball Association posted a photo of the native of Cologne on social media. “Terrible news,” wrote the DBB. “We mourn the loss of our former U18, U20 and A2 national player Dennis Kramer (silver at Universiade 2015), who died tragically at the age of 31 in a traffic accident.”

Dennis Kramer played 188 league games
Until 2021, Kramer played a total of 188 Bundesliga games for Brose Baskets Bamberg, TBB Trier, EWE Baskets Oldenburg and for Göttingen. According to a police report, the accident happened on Sunday evening in the Göttingen district. Accordingly, Kramer came off the road with his car and rolled over several times.
