With his goal to make the final score 1-1 against the Republic of Moldova, Michael Gregoritsch saved Austria’s national soccer team from an even greater embarrassment on Thursday evening in front of 13,200 visitors in the Raiffeisen Arena in Linz (OÖNachrichten reports here).
There was a winner in the end: the biggest scream came a quarter of an hour before the end. Marko Arnautovic had just changed a shoe when Lilly Knoll from Wartberg an der Krems shifted particularly quickly.
“I’m his biggest fan”
She sprinted across the stands down to the coaching bench, where, after a moment’s consideration, a supervisor actually handed her a Marko Arnautovic football boot.
We went back to our seats with pure joy. “I’m the biggest Arnautovic fan and I’m also wearing his jersey with the number seven and his signature. A gentleman said I should take advantage of the chance and run down – that’s what I did.”
