Independiente beats Platense 2-0 and qualifies for the Federal Cup

Independiente beat Platense today by 2 to 0, for the fourth round of the Women’s Soccer League Cup, and secured qualification for the Federal Cup.

“Rojo” has 9 points and is second in Zone A behind UAI Urquiza, which beat SAT 2-1 on Friday and is the leader with a perfect score. The first four in each group will have a place in the Federal Cup, the third AFA women’s tournament of the year, so Independiente has already achieved a place.

At the Libertadores de América stadium, Diana Brítez – with a header, after a great center from Estefanía Gauto – scored 1-0 for the Diablas against Platense at 34 minutes into the first half.
