TC 2000: Ardusso took pole in the return to July 9

The Santa Fe Facundo Ardusso (Honda Civic) achieved pole position this afternoon and will start the first race of the season tomorrow. TC 2000which this weekend will complete the ninth date of the category’s annual calendar at the city of July 9th.

In the category’s return to the Buenos Aires track after 26 years of absence, the 35-year-old Las Parejas driver obtained the fastest time, with a record of 1m. 31s. 249/1000.

The second position at the Guillermo ‘Yoyo’ Maldonado racetrack belonged to the leader of the tournament, the Tandil native Leonel Pernia (Renault Fluence), who was 118 thousandths behind.

Meanwhile, the Mendoza Bernardo Llaver (Honda Civic) achieved the third fastest time, with 1m. 31s. 864/1000, 615 thousandths of Ardusso.

Facundo Marques (Renault Fluence) from Córdoba qualified fourth, at 800/1000; Julián Santero (Toyota Corolla) from Mendoza established the fifth time, at 811/1000; and Facundo Aldrighetti from Rio Negro (Toyota Corolla) finished sixth, at 885/1000.

Tomorrow the first race of the category will take place at 11:30, while the second will start at 12:50.

The last competitive history of the division occurred in October 1997, when Henry Martin (Ford Escort) from San Juan won the two races held, his escorts being Walter Hernández (VW Polo) and Luis Soppelsa (Honda Civic), respectively.

The biggest winner on the Nine-Julian track was Ramallo’s idol, Juan María Traverso (Renault Fuego), who celebrated successively in the 1990, 1991 and 1993 editions.
