After the embarrassment, national coach Flick is under pressure. For now, the national team is continuing as planned.
As planned, Hansi Flick led the national soccer team’s public training session on the VfL Wolfsburg grounds on Sunday morning.
“We all certainly imagined it a little differently. But nevertheless it is a matter of course for us that we are here with all the players and all the coaches and are here,” said DFB sports director Rudi Völler in an announcement to the fans present Tomorrow after the violent 1:4 against Japan at the start of the European Championship season.
The players who played signed autographs at the beginning and stood for photos with the fans. The training session was primarily intended for the players who had only been substituted or had not played at all. Around 3,500 spectators were expected, but there were fewer at the start of training.
The DFB selection will meet World Cup runners-up France on Tuesday (9 p.m./ARD) in Dortmund. “We have to prepare for the fact that we have an important international match on Tuesday,” said Völler.
