Barco would have accepted Manchester City’s offer but Boca could claim

As the transfer book in both Europe and Argentina is closed, City can only negotiate with players whose contracts end within six months. This is not the case of Barco, which has a contract until the end of 2024.

According to various British media, including the Daily Star and Topskills Sports, Valentine Boat would have received and accepted the offer of the Manchester City to play on the team Pep Guardiolabut Boca has a current contract with the player and could make a claim for violating market rules.

The English club can only talk or agree on a pre-contract with a player whose contract ends within six months, but this is not the situation for Valentín Barco, who still has a year and a half of contract with Boca ahead of him.

The current European champions wanted to ensure that Barco agreed to play for the club and City’s objective now is to reach an agreement with Boca Juniors.

But this would not be so simple since the La Ribera club would be offering Colo an offer to increase the termination clause and extend the contract due to the interest of the English club.

Barco signed the extension of his contract in February until the end of 2024 with the condition that the clause did not serve as a “lock” in the face of the general approach of the Old Continent.

Boca’s demands for the departure of the ship

The current exit clause is 15 million dollars and as the main requirement, Boca proposes that the club that buys the player be responsible for the taxes and also keep a percentage of capital gains for a future sale.

The player’s desire is to continue training on the Casa Amarilla grounds and compete in the final phase of the Copa Libertadores.

Another impediment that City faces is that the transfer book, both in Europe and Argentina, is already closed and no team can make an addition or negotiate with a player before December.
