Even if we tend to think of sailing championships and sun lounger marathons in these temperatures, the ski jumpers are also in action. The Austrians showed their strong side in Stams.
On the first day of the Continental Cup for ski jumpers in Stams in Tyrol, Austria’s men made a strong impression. Marco Wörgötter, Clemens Aigner and Jonas Schuster ensured a triple victory for Ski Austria. In addition, ten other Ski Austria athletes made it into the points. In midsummer temperatures, the women also showed great performances. Here the victory went to the Frenchwoman Josephine Pagnier ahead of the Italian Annika Sieff and the German Pia Lilian Kübler. From a local perspective, there were only two Austrians at the start among the women: Katharina Ellmauer (16th place) and Meghann Wadsak (17th). On Sunday there will be another women’s and men’s competition on the program.
