Watch the video: “Thank you very much Germany”: Prince Harry concludes the ninth “Invictus Games”
This year’s “Invictus Games” came to an end in Düsseldorf with a big final event. The sporting competition brings together people from all over the world who have suffered physical or mental injuries during military operations. The games were launched by Britain’s Prince Harry, himself a former soldier, who celebrated his 39th birthday during the event alongside his wife, Duchess Meghan.
“Many thanks to everyone in Düsseldorf and thank you Germany for these games.” “These Games are a platform for positive change. The wave of respect is widely felt and we hope you feel it that way too. And I’m sure you’re all physically exhausted. Who wouldn’t be! But I hope also that you are mentally stronger than when you arrived.”
Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier also addressed the athletes, especially those from Ukraine, with a greeting on Saturday. “The Ukrainian team took part in the Invictus Games for the second time and now must return once again to defend their country against Russian aggression. You have my utmost respect and the support of all of us. May you be a new source of strength from these days here “The “Invictus Games” took place for the ninth time this year.
