Serhou Guirassy once again stands out at leaders VfB Stuttgart. Coach Sebastian Hoeneß confidently answered the first questions about whether the striker could leave the Swabians in the winter.
Despite the jump to the top of the Bundesliga table, no one at VfB Stuttgart is taking off, according to sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth. “We can no longer argue away the good start,” said the 44-year-old after the 3-1 (2-1) win against the newly promoted SV Darmstadt 98, who are still without a win. “But the fact remains that we have things under control “We have to ensure that everyone stays on the ground. There are still 29 match days to play. We’re definitely sticking with ourselves.”
Once again, striker Serhou Guirassy was the key to success for the Swabians in their third home win of the season at the third attempt with an assist for Enzo Millot’s equalizer and two goals of his own. “He deserves special praise,” said VfB coach Sebastian Hoeneß. “He showed the full range again: he scored goals, can provide goals and also work against the ball at the right moment.”
Hoeneß is not worried that the striker, who was already courted by other clubs in the summer, is making himself even more interesting. “I’m not worried about winter, it’s far too far away,” said the coach about the upcoming change period. “I think he feels very comfortable right now and wants to do something with us and hopefully it stays that way.”
