FC Bayern Munich: Tuchel on injured Neuer: “He’s doing very well”

Manuel Neuer is back – at least in goalkeeping training. Coach Thomas Tuchel is sending positive signals from the long-injured goalkeeper in the fight for the comeback. There is praise for another keeper.

Bayern Munich’s Thomas Tuchel has announced positive assessments of long-injured captain Manuel Neuer on the way to his comeback.

The national soccer goalkeeper returned to goalkeeper training at FC Bayern Munich after a break due to calf problems. “I spoke to Manu. He is very positive. I think I can now tell from his body language and his gestures and facial expressions whether Manu is doing well or not. I would say he is doing very well,” said Tuchel Munich.

Neuer, who has been out injured since December, recently had to take a step back due to calf problems. At the end of August, the 37-year-old completed a session with his goalkeeper colleagues for the first time since his serious skiing accident. “It’s actually not really an injury, it’s more discomfort,” Tuchel said of the recent problems. These are “very diffuse” and you don’t want to take any risks.

“He continues to be very positive because he believes that things can happen very quickly once he is in team training,” said Tuchel. In his own opinion, Neuer then has what he needs for the competition. “I believe that too, he knows himself better than I know him,” said Tuchel. He recently stated that Neuer would train with the team before the international break. The next international matches are scheduled for mid-October.

Neuer is currently represented by Sven Ulreich. “We don’t talk much about the goalkeepers. That means Ulle is doing a good job,” said Tuchel.
