IMST. The Linz Bundesliga teams ultimately solved their compulsory tasks in the ÖFB Cup with confidence: LASK missed out on a better win in the 3-0 win in Imst, while Blau-Weiß Linz showed a lot of patience in the 2-0 win in Draßburg.

LASK stood in its own way for a long time, but Felix Luckeneder gave the athletes the lead in the 8th minute: He deflected a free kick from Sascha Horvath into the goal with his heel.

Coach Thomas Sageder gave goalkeeper Tobias Lawal, Andres Andrade and Robert Zulj breaks. During the game, the athletes alternated between “too complicated” and “too imprecise” given the many chances. But it was never a shaky game like last year, when LASK fought their way to 4-1 in extra time in Imst after trailing with ten men. The match was decided by substitute Thomas Goiginger’s converted penalty (71′), Leipzig loanee Sanoussy Ba added his first goal for LASK – 3-0 (85′).

Holiday and Ronivaldo scored

Blau-Weiß Linz ran against a defensive bar in Draßburg. Goalkeeper Kevin Radulovic, who came from the cooperation club Wallern/St. after the failures of Nicolas Schmid and Andreas Lukse. Marienkirchen had been ordered back only to have something to do when Alem Pasic missed a back pass in his first appearance for Blau-Weiß Linz (35th).

Stefan Holiday redeemed Linz: Ronivaldo’s representative in the starting line-up scored to make it 1-0 (56′). The substitute Brazilian made everything clear himself – with his 20th goal in the 23rd cup game (78th).
