A big bang at RB Leipzig: one day before the top game against FC Bayern, the club fired sports director Max Eberl. One reason could be Eberl’s flirtation with the record champions.
RB Leipzig has parted ways with sports director Max Eberl with immediate effect. The club has officially confirmed this. According to the football trade magazine “kicker”, the cup winners have drawn the conclusions from the fact that Eberl has not denied the speculation that has repeatedly arisen in the past about a possible commitment to FC Bayern with a clear commitment to RB Leipzig. It is said that sports director Rouven Schröder will take over the sporting management in Leipzig.
Eberl only took office in Leipzig on December 1st. He previously worked for Borussia Mönchengladbach in various positions from 2005 to 2020. Ironically, the expulsion took place one day before the game between Leipzig and Bayern.
