2nd League: Tomiak saves Kaiserslautern 2:2 – Nuremberg wins again

A week after the 2-1 win against Hamburger SV, VfL Osnabrück narrowly missed the next surprise in the 2nd Bundesliga. After a long lead against 1. FC Kaiserslautern, the promoted team ultimately had to settle for a 2-2 (2-1) draw and thus remains bottom of the table.

Erik Engelhardt (17th minute) and former Bundesliga professional Mickael Cuisance (37th minute/foul penalty) scored the goals for Osnabrück. Julian Niehues (45.+2) and Boris Tomiak (90.+8) scored for the guests, who also failed with two penalty kicks from Kevin Kraus and Terrence Boyd against Osnabrück goalkeeper Lennart Grill.

1. FC Nürnberg has ended its negative streak and made it to eighth place. The Franconians defeated 1. FC Magdeburg 1-0 (0-0) with a goal from Felix Lohkemper (47th). Lohkemper had already scored two goals in the last game against Magdeburg.

Newcomer SV Elversberg remained undefeated in the fourth game after three successes in a row, but had to be content with sharing points in the 1:1 (1:1) draw against SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Manuel Feil gave the hosts the lead (9th), Fürth’s striker Branimir Hrgota equalized (14th).
