A great play by PSV, 49 minutes into the second half, was the one that moved the scoreboard thanks to Jordan Teze. After an individual play on the right, the defender shot at the goal from the large area and placed the ball to the left post of the goalkeeper, who could do nothing.

PSV tried to be strong by shooting many more times on goal, but without success in scoring. According to statistics, 15 went on goal, 1 hit the post and 11 ended up outside.

Orjan Nyland also stood out at the Philips Stadion. The Sevilla goalkeeper excelled by saving 7 shots and making 3 correct passes.

It was a game with many frictions due to infractions committed in the open field. There were several reprimands: Joey Veerman, Jesús Navas, Hirving Lozano, Loic Bade and Luuk de Jong.

PSV coach Peter Bosz proposed a 4-3-3 formation with Walter Benítez in goal; Jordan Teze, André Ramalho, Olivier Boscagli and Sergiño Dest on the defensive line; Malik Tillman, Jerdy Schouten and Joey Veerman in the middle; and Johan Bakayoko, Luuk de Jong and Noa Lang in attack.

For its part, José Luis Mendilibar’s team took the field with a 4-5-1 formation with Orjan Nyland between the three sticks; Jesús Navas, Nemanja Gudelj, Sergio Ramos and Adriá Pedrosa in defense; Fernando, Ivan Rakitic, Lucas Ocampos, Suso and Dodi Lukebakio in the midfield; and Youssef En Nesyri up front.

Referee Daniele Orsato was in charge of supervising the game at the Philips Stadion stadium.
