Hamburg’s Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler don’t give their opponents from Austria a chance at the Beach World Championships in Mexico. With 21:12 and 21:17 they made it into the next round.
Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler are in the round of 16 of the Beach Volleyball World Championship in Tlaxcala, Mexico. The Hamburg duo easily prevailed in the round of the best 32 teams in two sets with 21:12 and 21:17 against the Austrians Julian Hörl and Alexander Horst.
The only German men’s team clearly set the direction in the first round. With a 13:6 lead, we quickly won the set. In set number two, the Austrians put up a little more resistance, but ultimately had no chance.
Later in the evening, the three women’s teams of the German Volleyball Association will play their first knockout games. Laura Ludwig and Louise Lippmann have the Brazilians Agatha Bednarczuk and Rebecca Silva as opponents, Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann, who also train in Hamburg, the Spanish Liliana Fernandez Steiner and Paula Soria Gutierrez. The Stuttgart combination Sandra Ittlinger/Karla Borger is scheduled to meet Mariafe Artacho del Solar/Taliqua Clancy from Australia.
