Federico Coria, the top favorite for the title, will face Facundo Díaz Acosta today, while Mariano Navone will face another Argentine but naturalized Italian tennis player, Luciano Darderi, in the semifinals of the Buenos Aires Challenger, which will distribute prizes of $130,000.

Coria, born in Rosario and ranked 83rd in the ATP world ranking, will play Díaz Acosta (106) in the second semifinal of the day no earlier than 1 p.m. in the tournament that takes place on the powder courts of brick of the Racket Club, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo.

The first semifinal will begin at 11 and will feature Navone (190), born in the city of 9 de Julio, and Darderi (166), a native of Villa Gesell and naturalized Italian.

This year, Argentine tennis players won 18 tournaments in the Challenger category, which is next in importance to the ATP, according to the following detail:

Facundo Díaz Acosta became champion in Savannah, United States, in Oeiras, Portugal, and in Milan, Italy; Mariano Navone also celebrated in triplicate, in Poznan, Poland, in Santa Fe, Argentina, and in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, in Bolivia; Juan Manuel Cerúndolo raised the trophy twice, both at the Hacoaj Nautical Club facilities, in Tigre.

Francisco Comesaña from Mar del Plata also won two titles, in Vicenza, Italy, and Liberec, in the Czech Republic; like Federico Coria, who won in Concepción, Chile, and in Szczecin, Poland; and Thiago Agustín Tirante, who was crowned in Morelos, Mexico, and in Bogotá, Colombia.

The other four titles were by Andrea Collarini in Piracicaba, in São Paulo, Brazil; Federico Delbonis in Cali, Colombia; Genaro Alberto Olivieri in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and Camilo Ugo Carabelli in Antofagasta, Chile.
