Rosa knocked out and remains undefeated

Last night, the undefeated super lightweight José Gabriel Rosa from La Rioja pulled out a precise and beautiful one-two from the galley, scattered the Nicaraguan Elysson Márquez and knocked him out almost at the ringing of the bell that called for the break of the third round, in the main fight of a populated and interesting evening that took place in the gym of the Argentine Boxing Federation (FAB).

In reality, when the outcome of the lawsuit came, Rosa was far from completing a lucid task, since she had accepted her opponent’s invitation to a street-level give-and-take.

In any case, he always appeared superior and ended up achieving a spectacular knockout.

Nicknamed “Samson”, the Rioja native now has a record of 23-0 with 17 quick wins.

The Nicaraguan Márquez, for his part, has remained with 12-4-2 and, it is a fact, he was far from taking revenge for the defeat by a wide margin of points that he had suffered last March against Rosa himself in Roldán, province of Santa Fe.

Also last night, at the FAB, one of the most relevant figures of Argentine women’s boxing of these times was presented: the native of Brandsen, province of Buenos Aires, María Sol Baumstarh, pupil of former super lightweight world champion Juan Martín “Látigo” Coggi.

And Bausmtarh did not disappoint: with a pure right-hand blow he took the Venezuelan Yoselyn Fernández out of the ring by technical knockout in the first round and obtained the Latin mini fly crown, World Boxing Council (WBC) version.

The vigorous Baumstarh raised her record to 9-6-1 with seven knockouts, while the Venezuelan is now 12-5.

Likewise, the rising super lightweight from Santa Fe Alan Crenz defeated the Venezuelan Carlos Zabaleta by technical knockout in the second round, in a fight whose reward for the winner was the world youth championship version of the World Boxing Organization (WBC).

Originally from Sao Tome, Santa Fe, the tough fighter Crenz raised his record to 10-1 and 10 KOs.

Other results from last night in Castro Barros 75, the heart of the Almagro neighborhood of Buenos Aires:

The undefeated lightweight from Los Polvorines, Ignacio David Iribarren, defeated Emiliano Araujo from Buenos Aires by technical knockout in the sixth round and thus improved his record to 10-0-1 with five before the limit.

The Buenos Aires native Silio Nicolás Vilte defeated the missionary Cristian Osorio on points and completed four rented outings with as many successes.

Finally, the young man from Catamarca, Baltazar Noria, 20 years old, defeated Maximiliano Ávila from Córdoba by technical knockout in the fourth round, in a super welterweight fight.

Noria is now 8-0 with six knockouts, while Ávila is 2-6-1.
