NHL: Next clear bankruptcy for Draisaitl’s Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers’ start to the season is anything but satisfactory. In Philadelphia it was the third defeat in the fourth game, each with a flood of goals conceded.

Immediately after their first win of the season, the Edmonton Oilers suffered another severe setback in the NHL.

Two days after the 6:1 against the Nashville Predators, the team around national ice hockey player Leon Draisaitl suffered a 1:4 defeat at the Philadelphia Flyers. The 27-year-old from Cologne did not contribute to a goal for the first time this season.

The Oilers, who started this season with great ambitions, have now lost three of their first four games and have a goal difference of 11:17. Only the Tampa Bay Lightning have conceded more goals, but they also played one more game thanks to their 4-3 win against the Vancouver Canucks.

The Buffalo Sabers’ return on JJ Peterka has been similarly weak so far. The 3:4 against the Calgary Flames was also the third defeat in the fourth game of the season. Peterka’s second goal of the season to make it 3-3 wasn’t enough for success in the end.
