Red Bull’s triple world champion, Max Verstappen, withstood Lewis Hamilton’s onslaught to achieve the fiftieth victory of his Formula One careerat the United States Grand Prix on Sunday.
Mercedes driver Hamilton finished second and McLaren’s Lando Norris was third at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
The victory was the third in a row for Verstappen in Austin and the fifteenth in 18 races so far this year, equaling with four remaining the record that the 26-year-old Dutchman established last year for most victories in a single season.
Red Bull and Verstappen have already secured the constructors’ and drivers’ titles.
