Henrik Kristoffersen feels very close to his homeland in Austria: The 29-year-old Norwegian has been living in Salzburg for many years now and, as he explains on “Sport and Talk from Hangar 7”, he is also openly thinking about actually becoming an Austrian citizen.
However, Kristoffersen does not want to give up his Norwegian roots; he is more hoping for a double solution. “I really hope for dual citizenship,” the reigning slalom world champion openly admits. “I have an Austrian driving license, I pay taxes, my main residence is in Austria. If it’s possible with two, I like to say ‘yes’,” explains the world-class skier.
However, Austrian citizenship law currently does not allow dual or multiple citizenships. If you want to become an Austrian citizen, you would generally have to give up your previous citizenship
