UPDATE 1-Bellingham double allows Real Madrid to come back and win the Clásico against Barcelona

BARCELONA, Oct 28 (Reuters) – Real Madrid came back and beat Barcelona 2-1 on Saturday in a nerve-filled Spanish football LaLiga Clásico, thanks to two goals in the second half from their top scorer, Jude Bellingham. that continues to surprise with its performance.

The 20-year-old Englishman has made his transition to Spanish football look very easy, with 13 goals and three assists in 13 games in all competitions since joining from German side Borussia Dortmund.

On Saturday, Bellingham led Real Madrid’s comeback after Barcelona opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a goal from midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, who took advantage of a defensive error by the visitors that left him alone in front of goalkeeper Kepa.

Barça paid dearly for not converting their dominance into more goals, as Bellingham made the most of the two chances they had in the second half.

First he launched an unstoppable shot from distance into the left corner in the 68th minute and then, in added time, he scored the winning goal after collecting a pass from Luka Modric inside the area.

“Even a draw would be unfair for us after the game we played; it seemed like they had given up and then those embarrassing blows came to surprise us. It’s a shame,” Barcelona coach Xavi Hernández told DAZN.

“We dominated for 60 minutes, but this is football (…) Real Madrid has these things (…) Real Madrid scores two goals with the three or two and a half chances it has.”

Barça dominated the first half and Gundogan found the ball at his feet after defender Aurelien Tchouameni sent a back pass to center back David Alaba, who barely reached the ball.

Midfielder Fermín López, who hit the post in the 15th minute, and striker Joao Félix were a constant threat to the Real Madrid defense and created several scoring chances.

Andreas Christiansen headed against the post after the break and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga made a brilliant save to deny Barça an equalizer with Ronald Araujo’s shot from close range.

Real Madrid began to find its game after coach Carlo Ancelotti brought in Eduardo Camavinga and Modric.

Real Madrid leads the standings with 28 points, tied with Girona. Barça is third with 24, two more than Atlético de Madrid, which has two fewer games. (Reporting by Fernando Kallas; Edited in Spanish by Ricardo Figueroa)
