On Sunday, the Finn came second in the Toyota with his co-driver Jonne Halttunen in the Central Europe Rally in the border triangle of Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic, which was enough to make him a triumphant ahead of the last event from November 16th in Japan. Victory went to the Belgian Thierry Neuville in a Hyundai.

After four special stages on Saturday, two of the four scheduled sections in Austria were driven on Sunday, namely the “Böhmerwald” stage as the first and third of the day. The last one led to the finish in Passau as Passauerland. Briton Evans Elfyn Evans (Toyota) still had hopes of winning the title, but was eliminated on Saturday.
