The disappointment over the early cup exit is great at Bayern Munich, but Thomas Müller prefers to look forward. We want to win against BVB.
After the Munich Cup disgrace, Bayern professional Thomas Müller calls for full focus on the Bundesliga top duel at Borussia Dortmund.
“A day of licking wounds is allowed and necessary in order to grasp the significance. But then we have to move on,” wrote the national player in his newsletter: “Saturday is an extremely important game.” He hopes for a “great match”.
Against BVB, Müller said his team could make a little amends for last Wednesday’s 1-2 defeat at third division club 1. FC Saarbrücken: “We’re going to Dortmund to win. Even if we know that the grapes tend to hang higher there than in other Bundesliga stadiums.”
The emotions of the fans there would make the game “particularly spicy”. “That’s where it’s going. The desirability of the duel is huge, and of course you can feel that as a player too,” wrote the 34-year-old: “The classic against BVB has always been the biggest game in my Bundesliga career. It won’t just be in Germany but also internationally with great interest.”
