Tomorrow Christoph Mamoser will be heading off on his last away trip as coach of Union Mondsee with a guest appearance at Bad Leonfelden in the Upper Austrian League. With the end of the first half of the season next week, the 44-year-old will also end his coaching role at the club from the Salzkammergut after nine years. “I want new impulses for the team. This decision has been brewing in me for a long time.”
Not entirely surprising for the club: “He already indicated in the summer that it would probably be his last season. The fact that it ends in the fall surprised us a bit, but we accept his decision,” says sports director Johann Loibichler, who is already looking for a successor. “There is no Mamoser copy, but his successor should also represent attractive football.” Ideally, Mondsee wants to have found this by the end of the fall next Friday (note: home game against St. Martin).
