Boca-Fluminense Final: this is the security operation on the streets of Rio de Janeiro

A major security operation was planned early in Rio de Janeiro for the final of the 2023 edition of the Libertadores Cup of America that will encourage Mouth Juniors and Fluminense and deployed the largest number of agents in the vicinity of the Maracaná stadium, where there will be around 2,200 troops.

In this context, the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro is aware that it no longer has any margin for error after the serious acts of violence that occurred last Thursday in the Copacabana area.

What was agreed upon in the meeting yesterday at noon between leadership and officials of the Rio state was that the number of troops would be increased both on Avenida Atlántica, which borders the coast of Copacabana, and in the Maracaná, before, during and after the grand finale.

In this sense, there will be “monitoring of social networks” to avoid ambushes and cyber calls from the bars of Fluminense, Flamengo, Vasco de Gama and Botafogo, the four most important clubs in the “wonderful city”, it was reported.

Those 2,200 security personnel will be used and 24 blockades will be set up at the main entrances to the emblematic Rio stadium.

Police officers from the Military Police Air Group (GAM) will carry out patrols with aircraft and drones throughout the stadium’s security perimeter in order to maintain order and avoid clashes between the fans of both teams.

Through the Argentine Government, local officials already know the names of those who cannot pass because they do not have the right of admission to sporting events.

Brazil, through an agreement with the Argentine government, already knows the names of the violent ones.

As Telam was able to find out with people who work at the Galeao International Airport, after 8 o’clock, the leaders of the Boca inflated bar, known as “La 12”, entered Rio, with Rafael Di Zeo at the head, escorted by Mauro Martín and Marcelo Aravena.

The three members of the “La 12” leadership do not have the right of admission, meaning that they will be able to enter the northern sector of the Maracaná and accompany Boca as they did throughout this year’s Libertadores.
