As the British news agency PA reported, the 44-year-old man was initially only sentenced to 60 hours of unpaid work and a fine of 1,384 pounds (around 1,600 euros) after pleading guilty.
However, at the club’s instigation, the punishment has now been increased, the Spurs statement said.
“We would like to emphasize that the club does not tolerate discrimination of any kind and we will always advocate for the strongest possible action,” the statement continued.
The man is now banned from entering a stadium in Great Britain for three years. Before games abroad, the affected person’s passport can also be confiscated.
