The division of points after the basic round is particularly an issue: it could fall, especially in the qualifying group – as was recently decided in Belgium. This means: Those teams that play in the lower playoffs would take the points as they earned them in the regular round.
It is also being discussed whether the second division should be reduced from 16 to twelve teams, as last season 13 clubs were in the red. Possible changes will be implemented for the 2026/27 season.
