Riquelme, with the top blocks against Macri: “He wants to sell the club to four foreigners”

The vice president of Boca Juniors, Juan Román Riquelme, and candidate for president in the club’s elections on December 3, spoke out very harshly against the opposition formula of Andrés Ibarra and Mauricio Macriby accusing her of wanting “sell the stadium to 4 foreigners, because they want to privatize the club, use it for politics”.

“It’s sad what’s happening, it’s football. That others want to use it for politics. I don’t get involved in politics. I love the shield, the shirt and the fans”said Riquelme in Mendoza before the match with Godoy Cruz.

Then he spoke of the change of date from Saturday, December 2 to Sunday, December 3 by court order because a holiday of the Jewish religion (Shabbat) was celebrated that day and the members of that community could not go to vote:

“They used three people who later admitted that they never reported anything. This is very serious. What these people are trying to do is stop members from going to vote. Why did we put Saturday 2? So that people from the interior can come to vote. And then come home on Sunday and go to work on Monday. And these people in front are not interested. The only thing they want is for them not to come to vote, because they are not Boca fans,” he accused.

“We will see if tomorrow or the day after they come up with another excuse to suspend more members. They are messing with the most sacred thing, which is the fans.”he highlighted

Then he spoke of yesterday’s words of Martin Palermo confirming that he will lead Boca in 2024 if the opposition duo wins: “We are grateful to him, but you can do what you want with your life. I am very fond of him, we have been companions, we have a lot of fun. “Everyone has a way of living and I am happy with mine.”

Regarding the future “xeneize” coach, if he wins the elections he commented: “When we win, the next day we will announce the coach, just as we did 4 years ago when we announced the arrival of Miguel Ángel Russo”he claimed.

Finally, he spoke about the reform of the Bombonera: “We are going to ask our neighbors one by one if they want to sell, and if they say yes, we will enlarge it. If one says no, we will invite them to our stadium and we will try to make the new Bombonera as we have it, where it is” concluded Román.
