Far from everything, Barracas Central and Argentinos put an end to the regular phase

Central Barracks and Argentines Juniors tied 1 to 1 today at the close of the regular phase of the Professional League Cup at the Tomás Adolfo Ducó stadium, of the Huracán club.

For “Bicho” Gabriel Ávalos scored 3 minutes into the second half and for “Guapo” Iván Tapia did it, from a penalty, at 26m. of the second part.

Throughout the first half it was a fairly flat and boring match, where Argentinos Juniors had much more of the ball, but did not know how to translate that ball possession into scoring opportunities, beyond the fact that Guido Villar’s goal was uneventful.

For its part, Barracas did not find its way and found itself overwhelmed on the playing field.

Already in the second period, Argentinos Juniors went out to look for the result that would give them a victory to close the year in a good way and finish at the top of the general table. At the moment, the La Paternal club is being marginalized from international competition, although if a spot for the Sudamericana were released it could obtain it.

At 3 minutes into the complement, Argentinos took the lead thanks to the Paraguayan Ávalos.

After a bad start in defense of “Guapo”, Jonatan Galván, from his own field, launched a long shot towards Avalos, who dominated and entered the area to define under Villar’s body, to give Pablo Guede’s team an advantage .

After being at a disadvantage, Barracas Central went in search of a tie, being better than its rival. Thus he had two clear chances of scoring and at 23 minutes, the referee Andrés Gariano awarded a penalty for DT Sergio Rondina’s team, after a clear foul by Federico Lanzillota on Joaquín Susvielles

In this way, Tapia – before the watchful eye of his father Claudio “Chiqui”, president of the Argentine Football Association – changed for a goal at 26m. and gave the tie to his team.

After the tie, both teams had their chances to take advantage, but “Guapo” ended up being better in the match, already at the end.

Both teams were eliminated from the LPF Cup, despite that. Argentinos Juniors was in 12th place in the general table, outside of all international competition, but in the event that a place is freed up if a previously qualified team wins the League Cup, that place will go to Argentinos.
