The organization was founded in 2003 as part of Tornados Linz and has continued to develop since then. There has been a youth program (Ice Kittens) since 2012, and the club has been independent since spring 2014. Currently almost 90 women and girls of various ages and ability levels are active.
In terms of sport, things are currently not going as planned; in the women’s ice hockey Bundesliga (DEBL), the young women from Linz are at the bottom of the table. “The girls are dying to play in a well-filled hall. And that’s exactly what we all want for the anniversary,” says chairman Helmuth Wiesinger.
