Countdown: This is how the LASK day goes before the duel in Liverpool

European Cup games are something special, but the days are extremely long. The LASK kickers also have a tight program today – which goes far beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch. This is what the Black and Whites’ kickers do in the hours before kick-off:

11 a.m. – the activation unit in the hotel: The LASK completes the usual activation unit on match day in the hotel. The hotel name is not officially revealed. Anyone who wants to find the hotel among the 1,500 fans who accompany LASK on Thursday will find it in the port city with 500,000 inhabitants. The selection of top hotels is not that large. LASK doesn’t skimp here either: the players are accommodated where, from Manchester United to Tottenham, the stars of all teams are always relegated when playing in Liverpool.

1 p.m. – lunch: Everything a player’s heart desires is served up. Chicken, pasta, meat, fish, rice – LASK even has its own chef in Liverpool, Marco Luckner.

1 p.m. to 6 p.m. – rest time: The kickers retreat to the day rooms. But it is also quite possible that some people will pass the time with a short walk.

From 6.45 p.m. – the final discussions: Over coffee and cake, LASK coach Thomas Sageder gives his kickers the final precise instructions. Video sequences of the opponent should clarify the most important requirements.

7.15 p.m. – departure: A little more than an hour and a half before kick-off, you make your (short) journey to the stadium. Final meetings and the obligatory warm-up take place there.

9 p.m. – kick-off: The LASK players are probably experiencing a very special moment in their careers. When you leave the catacombs and step onto the pitch at Anfield Road in Liverpool, you will definitely remember this for a long time.
