Gimnasia La Plata’s midfielder, Nicolás Colazo, today described his goal against Colón de Santa Fe, for the 1-0 victory in the tiebreaker for permanence in the first division, as “one of the most important things” of his career.

“I was going to open my foot, but in the end I crossed it and it came out very nice, although the important thing is that it helped this big club stay in first place,” Colazo celebrated, after scoring the only goal of the relegation tiebreaker against Colon.

“I come from an injury that doesn’t let me complete the games, but I knew I had one more run and luckily that play happened that Franco came down and I was able to put it in,” continued the former Boca Juniors player, 33 years old.

Forward Franco Soldano enabled him at the gate of the area to unleash a precise shot that entered goalkeeper Matías Ibáñez’s left corner, 41 minutes into the first half, under heavy rain at the Marcelo Bielsa stadium.

“It is one of the most important things I did in my career, but today the figure was the team,” celebrated the Buenos Aires soccer player.

“The people of Gimnasia are a family, they love the club very much and we feel their support throughout the year, I regret that they have suffered until the last, but now they celebrate twice as much,” he concluded.
