2nd League: Niederlechner’s hat-trick for Hertha – Paderborn wins late

Hertha is on a roll and climbs to eighth place. Despite the success against Osnabrück, Schalke remains in 16th place.

Bundesliga relegated Hertha BSC is moving further forward in the 2nd Bundesliga. With the 5:1 (2:1) win against newly promoted SV Elversberg, the Berliners remained undefeated in the fifth game in a row and achieved their best position of the season so far with eighth place in the table.

Florian Niederlechner (23rd/61st/67th), who scored five goals in three games, as well as Linus Gechter (12th) and Jonjoe Kenny (71st) scored three times to give Hertha their sixth win of the season.

In the fight to stay in the league, Karlsruher SC and Hansa Rostock drew 2:2 (1:2). This means that FC Schalke 04 remains in 16th place despite the 4-0 win against VfL Osnabrück. Igor Matanovic (45th) and Budu Siwziwadse (81st) saved KSC from a draw after being 2-0 down.

SC Paderborn secured a 1-0 (0-0) win against Hannover 96 with a late goal from Florent Muslija (90.+1). This means that the Lower Saxony team remain winless against East Westphalia in the 2nd league.
