With 24 races confirmed, the 2024 Formula 1 season will become the most extensive of all time with competitions between March and December, including the Chinese Grand Prixwhich will run again after four years after the pandemic.
“I think this calendar strikes the right balance between traditional races and new and existing venues,” said the head of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), Stefano Domenicaliaccording to the newspaper Marca.
The leader continues to receive requests to further extend the calendar of the F1although the majority of the drivers and their teams suggest not adding new races due to the efforts it entails for the riders themselves and the economic costs that the teams of the “Great Circus.”
The competition will open in Bahrain on March 2 and will end in Abu Dhabi on December 8.
