“It was the tough game expected,” said VCA player Alexander Spring after the 3-0 win at home against Sokol V Vienna: “We had to win, but now we are one of the five strongest teams in Austria.”
With the tenth win in the eleventh game of the regular season, the VCA Amstetten finally secured the place in the upper intermediate round of the volleyball Bundesliga. In the decisive game, however, Amstetten and Sokol fought a tough fight from the start. “But we kept our nerve in the decisive phases, and this callousness made the difference,” says VCA captain Florian Ringseis. The sentence results 25:23, 26:24 and 25:22 make it clear how close this game was.
