VIENNA. Austria’s women’s national team managed to stay in League A of the Nations League with a 2-1 win against Norway. “It was an outstanding year”, cheered team boss Irene Fuhrmann. The U17 and U19 also mastered the hurdles of qualifying for the European Championship, and the U20 got their World Cup ticket for the first time. Next goal: the 2025 European Championships in Switzerland. The qualification will be held in the Nations League format. The first two of the four League A groups are fixed, all other participants are determined via play-off games.
