Swedish skier Dahlqvist won the sprint at the World Cup in Lillehammer

Swedish skier Maya Dalkvist won the freestyle sprint at the World Cup in Lillehammer, Norway. This was reported on Friday, December 3, by Sport-Express.

In the final, she ran the distance in 3 minutes 14.07 seconds. After her, American Jessica Diggins finished, 0.35 seconds behind the leader. The Norwegian athlete Tiril Veng closed the top three, 0.86 seconds behind Dalkvist.

Russian skiers Khristina Matsokina and Tatyana Sorina quit the fight for medals at the quarter-finals stage.

Natalya Nepryaeva, Yulia Stupak, Anna Grukhvina, Lilia Vasilyeva and Veronika Stepanova were not able to overcome the qualification at all.

Earlier on December 3, Norwegian skier Johannes Klebo won the freestyle sprint at the second stage of the World Cup held in Lillehammer.

Klebo covered the distance in the final in 2 minutes 52.48 seconds. The second place was taken by another Norwegian athlete – Thomas Larsen (+0.58 seconds), the top three was closed by the Frenchman Richard Juve (+0.78).

On Saturday, December 4, freestyle races for women (10 km) and men (15 km) will take place in Lillehammer. Men’s and women’s relay races are scheduled for December 5.
