After snowfall overnight and in view of the unfavorable weather forecast for the day, the FIS announced that they would concentrate entirely on preparing the slopes for the descent on Thursday (11.45 a.m./live ORF 1). It could snow again during the morning, but the weather on race days should be stable. Training already took place on Tuesday so that the descents can take place. The classic Val Gardena downhill takes place on Saturday, followed by the Super-G on Friday. It remains to be seen how the piste will change as a result of the new snow. On Tuesday the runners reported an unusually fast and “poisonous” Saslong, with extremely long jumps.

The athletes used the day off on Wednesday in different ways. According to the ÖSV, World Cup leader Marco Schwarz drove to Alta Badia for giant slalom training, others stayed in the hotel. Cancellations are not uncommon this alpine season: seven of nine races were canceled or canceled due to weather, and downhill training was also canceled.
