Russian grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi on Friday, December 3, lost to Magnus Carlsen in the sixth game of the match for the world chess crown. The fight takes place in Dubai (UAE). It is reported by “Sport-Express”.
The game ended on the 136th move, the Norwegian played with white.
The previous five games ended in a draw. The score became 3.5: 2.5 in favor of the reigning world champion. The next batch, the seventh in a row, will take place tomorrow, December 4th. Nepomniachtchi will play white in it.
Further games are scheduled for December 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 14. A tie-break will be scheduled on the 15th if necessary.
The prize fund of the match for the title of world chess champion is € 2 million.
On November 24, Carlsen noted his opponent’s aggressive style of play. According to him, the Russian plays faster and understands the value of keeping the king better than his previous opponents.
