Since Brian Brobbey is rarely used at Leipzig, Ajax Amsterdam is now thinking about bringing back the home grown.
Ajax coach Erik ten Hag has confirmed that he would not be averse to a return action of the center forward Brian Brobbey, who switched to RB Leipzig in the summer.
“If I could, I would be open to it,” said the 51-year-old at a press conference, adding: “We’re still looking for a new striker.”
RB Leipzig: Hardly any working times for Brian Brobbey
To Telegraph-Information, Ajax is actually checking a possible transfer of the 19-year-old, who is still under contract in Leipzig until 2025. However, Ten Hag also restricted: “I don’t know whether that will be possible.”
Brobbey is considered a promising young player, but so far he has hardly played a role under Leipzig coach Jesse Marsch. In the current season, the U21 international played ten competitive games, but these were mainly short appearances. Overall, he only comes to 229 minutes of play.
