In the men’s final, Benjamin Karl had the upper hand over Andreas Promegger, while in the women’s final, Sabine Schöffmann secured third place behind Ramona Hofmeister (GER) and Lucia Dalmasso (ITA) in the second World Cup season.
For Olympic champion Karl, after third place on Thursday in Carezza, also in the parallel race, it was the end of a perfect week. The 38-year-old was the youngest participant in the semi-finals, first defeating South Tyrolean Roland Fischnelller before keeping his 43-year-old teammate Prommegger at bay in the final. Fabian Obmann, Matthäus Pink and Alexander Payer had already fallen by the wayside in the round of 16.
Schöffmann missed the final against Dalmasso by just a hundredth of a second; in the small final, the 2023 World Cup bronze winner confidently beat the Czech Zuzana Maderova.
