Russian speed skaters took third place at the World Cup in the USA

The Russian women’s national team in the team pursuit race at the Speed ​​Skating World Cup in Salt Lake City (USA) became the third.

The team of Russian athletes consisting of Elizaveta Golubeva, Natalia Voronina and Evgenia Lalenkova showed a result of 2 minutes 56.22 seconds. From the leaders of the race – the national team of Canada – they lagged behind by 3.8 seconds. The second were skaters from the Netherlands with 2 minutes 52.692 seconds.

In the 500 m race, the second and third places were taken by the Russians Angelina Golikova and Olga Fatkulina. Angelica Vuychik from Poland became the winner at the distance, according to Sport-Express on December 4.

Earlier in the United States, Russian sports couple Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov took first place in the first stage of the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series in Las Vegas, USA.

The competition took place in October. After this stage, the skaters had five more stops in different cities of the world. However, the Osaka final had to be canceled due to the government’s ban on foreigners from entering. This measure is associated with the spread of the new Omicron coronavirus strain.
