FIFA is testing major rule changes at youth tournaments

Shorter playing time, kick-in and unlimited changes: FIFA is currently testing new rules that could revolutionize football.

FIFA is testing numerous possible rule changes in practice these days. As the Sports world reports, several new rules are being tried out at the Future of Football Cup youth tournament.

The most important innovation is the season. It is limited to 30 minutes per half. However, in this scenario the clock is stopped every time it is interrupted, such as in ice hockey.

FIFA test new rules: penalty time for a yellow card?

In addition, there are no limits for substitutions – players can therefore be changed in and out indefinitely. In addition, similar to futsal, a throw-in is carried out with the foot, so to speak as a kick-in.

For a yellow card there should also be a penalty time of five minutes, during which the respective team must then play in a minority.

However, it is still completely unclear whether these changes will eventually make it to professional football.
