The Argentine Football Association (AFA) held this Tuesday the draw for the 2024 Argentine Cupat the Lionel Andrés Messi Premises, where the crosses of the 64 participating teams that will seek to keep the trophy that also gives a place to the Copa Libertadores 2025 were known.
With a show prior to the draw by the dancer Mora Godoy, the gala began, which was attended by Claudio “Chiqui” TapiaPresident of AFA, who highlighted the contest as “the most federal of our football.”
“This is the Cup that gives parity to all teams, the most representative that the AFA has. Every time a team plays in the interior, it boosts tourism and the regional economy“added the leader of the mother house of Argentine football.
When it comes to knowing the future of each of the 64 participating teamsthere were finally several new crossings and others not so much, since they were crossed in previous editions.
In the 32nd round, Boca will face Central Norte de Salta (Federal Tournament), and River will face the champion of Primera C Excursionista (promoted to Primera B).
For its part, Independiente will have to face Deportivo Lafarrere, while Racing will face San Martín de Burzaco and San Lorenzo will play against Independiente de Chivilcoy del Federal.
For this edition, the draw format received a modification: the classics were from different sides of the bracket and the only way for them to meet is a hypothetical final.
