Russian skiers Yulia Stupak, Natalya Nepryaeva, Tatyana Sorina and Veronika Stepanova on December 5 won the 4×5 km relay at the World Cup stage in Lillehammer, Norway.
Russian athletes covered the distance in 54 minutes 40.6 seconds. The second came the Swedish team, the third – the Norwegian team.
The second Russian team consisting of Yana Kirpichenko, Anastasia Faleeva, Anastasia Rygalina and Maria Istomina came in eighth.
Earlier that day, the Norwegian cross-country skiing team won the men’s 4×7.5 km relay at the home stage of the World Cup, according to Sport-Express. The second place was taken by the second Russian team, which included Alexander Terentyev, Ilya Semikov, Artem Maltsev and Sergey Ustyugov.
On December 3, Swedish skier Maya Dalkvist won the freestyle sprint at the World Cup. In the final, she ran the distance in 3 minutes 14.07 seconds. Russian skiers Khristina Matsokina and Tatyana Sorina quit the fight for medals at the quarter-finals stage.
The next stage of the World Cup will be held from December 11 to 12 in Switzerland.
