National team: comeback for the European Championship? Kroos avoids any comment

Toni Kroos meets with his brother Felix once a week to record their podcast. However, there are only slight hints about the biggest topic in German football at the moment.

In the debate about a possible return to the national soccer team for the European Championships in Germany, Toni Kroos avoided any comment on the topic in his podcast.

In the last published issue of the year of “Einfach mal Luppen” there was no statement from the Real Madrid midfielder as to whether he could imagine a comeback. Brother Felix Kroos made the 2014 world champion laugh with hints, but never directly addressed the comeback debate for the home European Championship.

Nagelsmann to Kroos return

Kroos’ Real colleague Antonio Rüdiger recently discussed the 33-year-old’s return and reported that he asks his teammate “every day”. National coach Julian Nagelsmann recently described Kroos’ return as an “interesting thought” in the ZDF “Sportstudio” and added: “You have to think about all the players who have a German passport, I think that’s my job.” But he hasn’t spoken specifically about it with Kroos yet.

According to “Bild”, Kroos can supposedly imagine a comeback for the home European Championship. The midfield star ended his career in the DFB team after 106 international matches after the round of 16 exit at the 2021 European Championship. He said at the time that the decision was irrevocable. Kroos has been one of the top performers in the Real Madrid team since 2014, but is no longer a full-time employee. He won the Champions League four times with Real and had previously won the trophy once with FC Bayern Munich.
