Slalom specialist Lena Dürr achieved her third podium finish of the season at the World Cup in Austria. US star Mikaela Shiffrin wins by a huge margin.
Ski racer Lena Dürr shot onto a World Cup podium for the third time this season. The 32-year-old from SV Germering came second in the Lienz slalom.
The victory once again went to exceptional US athlete Mikaela Shiffrin. The 28-year-old was a whopping 2.34 seconds ahead of Dürr at the finish and celebrated her 93rd World Cup success in a superior manner. The Swiss Michelle Gisin came third (+2.45 seconds). Shiffrin’s compatriot Paula Moltzan, who was in second place at halftime, was eliminated in the second run.
Dürr’s teammate Jessica Hilzinger did not make it into the second round in 38th place. Emma Aicher already threaded the first pole and was eliminated.
