Andreas Wieland is back at LASK after 20 months: The 40-year-old had already terminated his contract as a coach with the Belgian second division team a week ago, and now he has been presented as “technical director” at LASK. In this position he is responsible for the academy and the young talent.
“He knows the club and the structures and fits our philosophy perfectly,” said sports director Radovan Vujanovic, explaining the return campaign. The previous technical director, Ralf Muhr, had to make way for Wieland.
Wieland was at LASK from July 2018 to May 2022: as a coach in the academy and FC Juniors Upper Austria, and ultimately as a coach with the professionals.
