Russian grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi lost to Norwegian Magnus Carlsen in the ninth game of the match for the world chess champion title. This was reported on December 7 by Sport-Express.

According to the newspaper, the 31-year-old Russian resigned on the 39th move, he played with white pieces. Thus, the confrontation ended with a score of 6: 3 in favor of Carlsen.

The tenth game will take place on December 8 at 15:30 Moscow time. The next games are scheduled for December 10, 11, 12 and 14. If necessary, a time-break will be assigned on the 15th.

The fight takes place in Dubai (UAE). The prize fund of the match for the world chess crown is € 2 million.

On December 3, it was reported that Ian Nepomniachtchi lost to Magnus Carlsen in the sixth game of the match for the world title.
